How can I persuade my father to get his hearing test? He clearly needs hearing aids. What has worked for you?

I want tips for persuading my father who is 81 years old to get his hearing tested. He just shuts down when we bring up the subject.I want to hear what other people with older parents have done or said to encourage their parents to get their hearing checked and wear hearing aids if needed. Thanks.
