Hearing Aids

My father-in-law has been looking for a job for several months. He has hearing aids in both ears and he is 53 yrs. old. He has had interviews by phone and face-to-face, but no success yet. He has even paid some company to help him with interviews and how to sell himself. I don’t know if it’s his age or his hearing that is the problem. He is a great accountant and has worked for food manufactorers and plants as their accountant. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there another profession that might work better for him. I just thought I would try to help him out all I can. I would appreciate all comments.

The thing is, he is in a 3rd world country. thats why theres they haven’t taken him to any doctor and where he lives, its a village that doesn’t even have a gas station =\ Ive heard of some hearing aids that are implanted?

obviously nowadays young people listen to loud music for long periods of time (me included) and we are damaging our hearing. when the loud noise damages or kills some of the cells in the ears how do hearing aids work to improve hearing?

are scientists developing anything better? in a few years there are going to be so many more people needing hearing aids so how are they doing with new technology/science on that, do we know?
